September 28, 2002 Batting Extravaganza – Preprinted muslin mailed to 8 members after the 6-22-03 meeting each person was assigned a certain batting type. All quilted the queen size piece with provided 100% cotton thread and a good quality white muslin backing. When quilting was completed piece was cut in half lengthwise. Half was washed and dried according to the specific batting instructions. Then both halves were cut into 15-inch squares and labeled. At the September 28, 2003 meeting members showed the differences between batting as well was not washed and washed differences. All attendees at the meeting received a group of the samples.
January 11, 2003 “The Best Patterns and the Worst Patterns and Why” – members shared pantograph patterns that have been used over the years with the group
March 22, 2003 “How Quilting Makes the Quilt” Preprinted holiday panels (passed out at the January meeting) were quilted with pantograph patterns or custom by 15 members. The group of 15 quilts is available for one year to any guild member to share at local guild meetings or at quilt shows.
September 27, 2003 Guest speaker Terri L. Copeland from T.L.C. Business Services spoke to the group regarding taxes. She went over basic recommendations and considerations as expenses, having a home office and turning a profit-hobby/loss rules.
